An ELT blog that cannot be missed!

I've been blogging for quite a while. From time to time, I will browse others' ELT blogs to get some inspirations. This blog, Nik's Learning Technology Blog, is the one that I particularly like.

This blog suggests many useful technological tools with step-by-step instructions that teachers can use to help with their teaching.

Why is it good?

 Organization and Layout

  • The blog has a really clear layout which helps the readers to follow easily. With the use of subheadings, sections, and point forms, all the content can be understood clearly.
  • The panel on the right hand side helps readability too. The topics of the previous posts are all listed, so readers can find the topics they are looking for/ interested in easily.

 Content and Features

  • Each entry of the blog introduces a new technological tool and lists clearly and comprehensively how teachers can apply them in a language classroom
  • With tools that teachers have to set up something, there will be step-by-step guide with pictures instructing teachers how to use them.
  • Each entry is pretty lengthy as it is comprehensive. I'm a word person, so I'm happy with it.

 Ease of use and Navigation

  • As mentioned, there is a label panel listing all the topics that the previous posts have covered, users can easily find the topics that they need by clicking on the topics to see all the related post.
  • There is only one entry on each page, so things are really neat and tidy.

 Target Audience

  • The blog targets on English teachers so everything introduced is very practical and focused
  • The style of writing is quite formal so it can be boring for some people.

What are you waiting for? Take a look at this amazing blog!

  1. Indeed, this is a very nice blog. I am really interested in the QR codes. It would be nice if he had more details as to how to create one.
